Guincamp - Côtes-d'Armorhome > regions > Côtes-d'Armor > places of interest > GuincampOn the road to Guincamp, the Warenghem Breton whisky distillery makes an interesting visit. The town's university ensures a youthful atmosphere with plenty of nightlife and bars. The Place du Centre is traffic free and is surrounded by fine old houses and hotels particuliers with wood and slate facades. The fountain, La Plomée, is a superb example of renaissance style. The basilica of Notre Dame de Bon Secours, with its three towers, was started in the 13th century. The annual pardon takes place the first Saturday of July and is one of the largest and liveliest with a candle lit night procession and bonfires. It is followed on the Sunday by a traditional dance festival performed by children. In August, the Fête de la Saint Loup goes on for a week with folk dancing in the streets.
