LamballeLamballe has a large commercial centre, and is most famous for its national stud (horses) farm in the centre of town. Guided tours to visit the stables, tack rooms and forge can be arranged through the local tourist office. The best time to visit is after June when the stallions are in in stables. La Place du Martray features some interesting old houses, especially the hangman’s house (La Maison du Bourreau) and two small museums exhibiting local arts and crafts. They also show exhibit of the local artist Mathurin Méheut. |
